One of the best things about my private podcast, Cultivate Your Biz, is that subscribers can submit questions they want me to address.

They can also request topics for me to cover.

One of the topics I'll be covering in detail on the next episode is around what advice I would give to a newbie business owner.

If you want access to the deep dive episode along with my offer suite template and other resources, simply CLICK HERE to subscribe.

That episode will be live on Friday. 🙌

But, I wanted to give you the cliff notes version for those of you who aren't into podcasts.

For context, this topic came about in relation to episode 1, where I shared how my business is going to be changing and how I arrived at those decisions and direction.

My advice, if you're just starting out in your online business, is pretty simple.

Do these two things until you're making at least $1,000 or more per month:

#1: Build and grow your email list (this is your owned audience... social media followers mean nada on their own... especially if the platform goes down...)

It's much easier to launch an offer to an existing audience than it is to build one while launching.

Take 30 days to focus on building your email list (and nurturing those subscribers) and you'll be in a position to beta launch your offer.

👩‍💻 This video walks you through some ideas on getting started

Which brings me to item number two...

#2: Pre-sell your offer (and make it minimum viable or 'get paid to create' it)

Once you've got at least 100 people on your email list, you're in a position to sell them an offer.

Here's what this is NOT going to look like...

  • A six-figure launch - while their are always outliers, for the most part, your very first offer is likely to be more in the 100s or 1,000s from an income perspective. Keep things realistic.
  • Selling a high-ticket offer (unless you've spent 90-180 days nurturing your audience). Typically, your first offer will be around $100 or less.

So what do you sell these subscribers?

What they WANT...

Not what you know they need, but what they want.

If you've been nurturing your audience, you'll likely have an idea of what they want.

Some ideas to get you started:

  • A 60-minute session (this could be coaching, strategy, DFY etc) that you're launching at $50 for the first 5 people.
  • A mini-training (60 minutes or less) that you're selling for $10 for a limited time (pre-sell it and only create it if people buy it).
  • A bundle of templates that you're selling for $20 for a limited time.

Stuck for ideas?

💡 The Easy Earnings mini-course (only $10) will give you 12 ideas you can create this weekend!

Once you've got the idea of the offer, pre-sell it by creating a simple checkout page.

Send 3-5 emails to your email list talking about this offer (over 5-7 days).

Get your sales coming in.

Rinse and repeat until you've hit $1k per month (ideally with the same offer, or a few variations on the same topic).

I hope you found this helpful and remember, if you want a more structured approach and resources to help you do this and more, make sure you subscribe to the Cultivate Your Biz private podcast HERE. 👈

Take care
